Product DescriptionMETAL LASER ARM FIX BUZZING PS2 PART REPAIR
Faulty screw and lever
Use this replacement to repair your V9-V11 PS2
One of the common problems with all PS2 Console models is the PS2 Laser Arm loses it's elasticity and causes poor loading, waiting times to eject the tray after pressing the eject button with an annoying grinding noise and in extreme cases the disk won't load at all.
Compatible with v9-v11 PS2 consoles.
The fault with this item is usually accompanied by a clicking noise when you first start up the PS2 or hit reset. This is caused by the worm drive moving and the laser being stuck because of a sticking bar. The lever then jumps up and down on the worm drive causing the click. The plastic part of the lever then starts to get worn and round off.
Before you purchase this item make sure you have fixed the cause ... The "bar" that goes through the laser can start to stick. Take the bar out and clean the holes. Use cleaning fluid (IPA), a soft cloth and a small screw driver.
Once this is done make sure the bar slides easily through the holes. The arm can be bent ever so slightly to make it work again, but it is still worn and will in the long run require a replacement.
